Welcome to the Housatonic Resources Recovery Authority, HRRA, a regional, governmental, waste management and recycling authority serving fourteen municipalities in western Connecticut and a population of over 266,000 people.  HRRA municipalities include: Bethel, Bridgewater, Brookfield, Danbury, Kent, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield, Roxbury, Sherman, Weston, Wilton.

Connecticut now has a universal list of what belongs in your recycling bin and what doesn’t.  All items should be empty, rinsed, clean and open.  Do not shred, box, bag or bundle material.  Print the WIWO flyer here.  For information on plastic bag recycling click here.

The search widget below is for items that should or should not go in your recycling bin.  If you need to find how to dispose of a particular item in an HRRA town use the Drop Off Centers menu at the top of this page, click on your town.  You can also use the search feature at the top right of the page next to Contact Us.
